Blackman Street

Blackman Street formed the southern portion of the main thoroughfare in Southwark, which is now commonly referred to as the High Street or Borough High Street (Malden). Stow notes that Blackman Street began at the southern end of Long Southwark near St. George Southwark and moved south towards the Parish of St. Mary (Newington) (Stow 1633, sig. 2Q2r). Blackman Street is south of the area depicted on the Agas map.
