Ward Boundaries

Ward boundaries have been adjusted several times in the course of London’s history. The earliest ward maps are those of Richard Blome. You will find modern ward maps at the City of London website.
As a bird’s-eye view with some features of plat maps and some of perspective landscapes, the Agas map does not lend itself well to georeferencing and georectification.1 We have not yet been able to import the shape files generously offered to us by other projects. We have therefore used our own drawing tools to draw polygons on the map surface that follow the lines traced verbally in the opening paragraph(s) of each ward chapter in John Stow’s Survey of London.
