Painter Stainers’ Hall

The Painter Stainers’ Hall, also known simply as the Painters’ Hall, was located [o]n the west side of Little Trinity LaneGap in transcription. Reason: Editorial omission for reasons of length or relevance. Use only in quotations in born-digital documents.[…] in Queenhithe ward (Harben 454). Sometimes referred to as Browne’s House because it was the house of John Brown, Sergeant Painter in the reign of Henry VIII, the space became the hall of the Painter Stainers’ Company following Browne’s death in 1532. The structure stood until it was destroyed in The Great Fire of 1666, but was promptly rebuilt in 1668 (Harben 454).
