St. George Church was on Botolph Lane in Billingsgate Ward. The church dates back at least to 1193 (Carlin and Belcher). It was destroyed in the Great Fire, then rebuilt by 1674, and finally demolished in 1904 (Harben).
Harben lists the following early modern variant toponyms: St. George Buttolph and Seynt George in Podynge lane (Harben).
