Austin Friars (Augustinians)
The Austin Friars were a mendicant order
                     that adhered to the teachings of Augustine of Hippo.
                     Founded in the thirteenth century, the Austin
                           Friars arrived in England in 1248 and occupied Austin Friars until King Henry VIII’s Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1538.
