There are two variants, one with the plain <att>xml:id</att> of the category, meaning all documents in the specified category, and one with the suffix <q>_subcategories</q>, meaning all subcategories of the category.</p>

          <p>This molvariant prefix is used on <gi>ref</gi>/<att>target</att> attributes during automated 
          generation of gazetteer index files. It points to an element in the generated variant spellings
          listing file which lists all documents which contain a particular spelling variant for a 
          location.</p>

          <p>This molajax prefix is used on <gi>ref</gi>/<att>target</att> attributes during the static build 
          process, to specify links which point to MoEML resources which should not be loaded into the source 
          page during standalone processing; instead, these should be turned into links to the XML source 
          documents, and at HTML page load time, these should be turned into AJAX calls. This is to handle 
          the scenario in which a page such as an A-Z index of the whole site would end up containing 
          virtually the whole site inside itself.</p>

        <item>an <ref target="mdtlist:mdtEncyclopedia_subcategories">Encyclopedia</ref> of London people, places, topics, and terms;</item>
        <item>a <ref target="mdtlist:mdtPrimarySourceLibrary_subcategories">Library</ref> of marked-up texts rich in London toponyms;</item>
        <item>an anthology of old-spelling and modern editions of all the Elizabethan, Jacobean, and Caroline
          <ref target="mdtlist:mdtPrimarySourceLibraryMayoral">mayoral shows</ref> (modern editions forthcoming);</item>
        <item>a versioned edition of John Stow’s <title level="m">Survey of London</title> (<ref target="mol:stow_1598">1598</ref>
          is nearly complete; the early stages of <ref target="mol:stow_1633">1633</ref> are in draft);</item>
        <item>the <title level="a">London Parish</title> project (by <name ref="mol:HIGH1">Christopher Highley</name>; forthcoming);</item>
        <item>and <title level="a">Browsing the Bookstalls of St. Paul’s</title> project (by <name ref="mol:ZIMM1">Erica Zimmer</name>; forthcoming).</item>

      <p>MoEML’s six databases support all the interoperable projects:

        <item>a <ref target="mol:gazetteer">Gazetteer</ref> of locations (e.g., streets, sites, playhouses, taverns, churches, wards, and topographical features);</item>
        <item>a  <ref target="mdtlist:mdtEncyclopediaPersonography_subcategories">Personography</ref> of early modern Londoners both historical and literary;</item>
        <item>an <ref target="mdtlist:mdtEncyclopediaOrganization">Orgography</ref> of organizations (e.g., livery companies and other corporations);</item>
        <item>a <ref target="mdtlist:mdtEncyclopediaBibliography">Bibliography</ref> of primary and secondary sources;</item>
        <item>a <ref target="mol:MAPS1">Mapography</ref> of early modern city maps;</item>
        <item>and a <ref target="mol:GLOSS1">Glossary</ref> of terms relevant to early modern London.</item>
      </list></p>
      
     <p>All of the files in the databases use a common TEI tagset that enables users to work with primary and secondary texts simultaneously.
       The Map allows users to visualize, overlay, combine, and query the information in the MoEML databases.</p></div>
