        to <title level="m">The Map of Early Modern London</title> from the <ref target="http://cofk.history.ox.ac.uk/"><title level="m">Cultures of Knowledge</title></ref>
        digital humanities project at the <ref target="http://www.ox.ac.uk/">University of
         Oxford</ref>, where she was the editor of <ref target="http://emlo.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/"><title level="m">Early Modern Letters Online</title></ref>, an open-access union
        catalogue and editorial interface for correspondence from the sixteenth to eighteenth
        centuries. She is currently Co-Director of a sister project to <ref target="http://emlo.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/"><title level="m">EMLO</title></ref> called <title level="m">Women’s Early Modern Letters Online</title> (<ref target="http://wemlo.net/"><title level="m">WEMLO</title></ref>). In the past, she held an internship with the
        curator of manuscripts at the <ref target="https://www.folger.edu/">Folger Shakespeare
         Library</ref>, completed a doctorate at <ref target="http://www.ox.ac.uk/">Oxford</ref> on
        paratext and early modern women writers, and worked a number of years for the <ref target="http://www.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/">Bodleian Libraries</ref> and as a freelance editor.
        She has a passion for rare books and manuscripts as social and material artifacts, and is
        interested in the development of digital resources that will improve access to these
        materials while ensuring their ongoing preservation and conservation. An avid traveler, Kim
        has always loved both London and maps, and so is particularly delighted to be able to bring
        her early modern scholarly expertise to bear on the MoEML project.</p>

        Academy at the Stratford Festival, the University of Windsor, and the University of
        Victoria.             <note><p>The <name type="org" ref="#SHIP1">Shipwrights’ Company</name> did not become
                a livery company until 1782. However, a Shipwrights’ Company had been regulating
                shipbuilding in <ref target="LOND5.xml">London</ref> for centuries before then.
                Shipwrights <soCalled>Below the Bridge</soCalled> built seagoing ships, while
                Shipwrights <soCalled>Above the Bridge</soCalled> built river craft. The <name type="org" ref="#SHIP1">Worshipful Company of Shipwrights</name> is still
                active and maintains a website at <ref target="https://www.shipwrights.co.uk/">https://www.shipwrights.co.uk/</ref> that includes a <ref target="https://www.shipwrights.co.uk/shipwrights-history">history
                  of the company</ref>.</p></note>

            <name type="org">Church of England</name>
            <note><p>The <name type="org" ref="#CHUR8">Church of England</name> first came into
              being in <date>1534</date> when <name ref="PERS1.xml#HENR1">King Henry
                  VIII</name> seceded from Rome and declared himself <soCalled>Supreme Head of the
                    <name type="org" ref="#CHUR8">Church of England</name></soCalled> by the Act
              of Supremacy. <name ref="PERS1.xml#MARY2">Queen Mary I</name> repealed this act in <date>1555</date>. In <date>1559</date>, as part of what is now known as the
              Elizabethan Religious Settlement, parliament restored the act and made <name ref="PERS1.xml#ELIZ1">Queen Elizabeth I</name>
              <soCalled>Supreme Governor of the <name type="org" ref="#CHUR8">Church of
                England</name></soCalled>, a role still held by the British monarch today. The
              <name type="org" ref="#CHUR8">Church of England</name> has been the official
              Christian church in <ref target="ENGL2.xml">England</ref> since <date>1559</date>. Its doctrinal position was set out in the <soCalled>Thirty-Nine
                  Articles</soCalled> of <date>1563</date> and finalized in <date>1571</date>, at which point
              they were incorporated into the <title level="m">Book of Common Prayer</title> that
              had governed the liturgical form of <name type="org" ref="#CHUR8">Church of
                England</name> services since <date>1549</date>.</p></note>

            <name type="org">Corporation of London</name>
            <note><p>The <name type="org" ref="#CORP1">Corporation of London</name> was the
              municipal government of <ref target="LOND5.xml">London</ref>, made up of the <name type="org" ref="#MAYO2">Mayor of London</name>, the <name type="org" ref="ORGS1.xml#ALDE7">Court of Aldermen</name>, and the <name type="org" ref="#COUN5">Court of Common Council</name>. It exists today in largely the same
              form.</p></note>
