        <ref target="mol:CRUT1">Crutched Friars</ref> was a street that ran east-west from <ref target="mol:POOR1">Poor Jewry Lane</ref> to the east end of <ref target="mol:HART1">Hart
          Street</ref> above <ref target="mol:SEET1">Seething Lane</ref>. When <name ref="mol:STOW6">Stow</name> wrote, most of
        <ref target="mol:CRUT1">Crutched Friars</ref> was known as <ref target="mol:HART1">Hart
          Street</ref>, so <name ref="mol:STOW6">Stow</name> only uses the name <ref target="mol:CRUT1">Crutched Friars</ref>
        to refer to <ref target="mol:CRUT2">Crutched Friars Priory</ref> (<ref type="bibl" target="mol:HARB1">Harben</ref>). Since <name ref="mol:STOW6">Stow</name> does not name the street that ran from <ref target="mol:ALDG1">Aldgate</ref> to <ref target="mol:WOOD2">Woodroffe Lane</ref>, it
        could have been known as <ref target="mol:HART1">Hart Street</ref>, <ref target="mol:CRUT1">Crutched Friars</ref>, or something different.</p>

          the scenario in which a page such as an A-Z index of the whole site would end up containing 
          virtually the whole site inside itself.</p>

              Benjamin Cole’s 1754 engraving of <ref target="mol:TOWE4">Tower Street Ward</ref> [<ref type="bibl" target="mol:COLE4">Cole</ref>] and Richard Blome’s 1720 engraving of <ref target="mol:ALDG2">Aldgate Ward</ref> [<ref type="bibl" target="mol:BLOM9">Blome</ref>]). </p>

          with its Tudor name, <quote><ref target="mol:CRUT1">Herte Str.</ref></quote></p>
